Network marketers are constantly harping on everyone to “discover their why”.
Why will keep you going.
Why will help you stick it out.
Your Why is the key to your success.
Of course it can never be so simple to these mystics of marketing as making a little extra jack.
Just a few more bucks to take a little of the pressure off at the end of the month. I read somewhere that most of the bankruptcies in America could be avoided with as little as $200 per month. Crazy.
Why am I bitching about this stuff this morning?
Because once again I have to move. To a place I don’t want to go. In the same compound as my work. (Imagine living in a tent in the parking lot of your job)
No more chow on my schedule.
No more walking to the gym. (I could do it, but it would take too much of my limited time)
No escape from the people I work with every day,
No walking to the shopette (think am/pm) or the PX.
Can’t go anywhere unless I can beg a vehicle from the managers who control them.
But those things aren’t what’s really pissing me off.
Nope.
What really chaps my rump is that the managers and all their groupies don’t have to move. They get to stay right where they are. No hassle. No problem.
Did I mention that they will all have twice the space we’ll get when we move to our new tent? Or that since they’re still living in “substandard” housing they’ll get first dibs on our new building when it’s finished? Or that they all have vehicles so they enjoy complete freedom of movement while we’ll be locked down inside our maintenance compound? And the site manager has the nerve to tell us that they’re all “sacrificing” so we can move into the new tents first?
Yeah. They can kiss my ass.
And yet they’ll still expect me to go above and beyond for the company that’s screwing me and everyone else but the “chosen few” over every day.
But they don’t know me.
They think I’m just another sheep.
That I’ll just go along quietly and conform.
Big mistake.
My purpose here above and beyond all else is to make sure I succeed in my business. Nothing will stop me from doing that. So I may have to make a few adjustments, but I WILL do what’s necessary to take care of my business.
Regardless of the cost.
Period.
The title of this post is “Why?”
Here’s mine:
I OWN MY LIFE.
NOBODY ELSE’S DECISIONS AFFECT MY LIFE UNLESS I CHOOSE TO GO ALONG WITH THEIR PLAN.
I MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS.
I PLOT MY OWN COURSE OF ACTION.
I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY OUTCOMES.
I ENJOY THE FREEDOM THAT COMES FROM KNOWING THAT I AM IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE AND DESERVE TO ENJOY THE BEST THIS WORLD HAS TO OFFER BECAUSE I HAVE EARNED IT.
There it is.
Pretty simple, really.
But it lies at the core of my being.
And nobody on Earth has the ability to keep me from achieving it.
Let ‘em try.
