Attn. WordPress Users: Please give me 5 minutes of your time

Hey guys,

Since I know there’s a lot of valuable and knowledgeable leaders in this community, today I request your help.

I created a blog with WordPress around 6 months ago and I still can’t make it rank #1 in Google for my name (marketer x).

Could you be kind enough to check it out and give me your advices, tips and/or tricks? In case you can, here’s the website: xxxxxxx

ALL critiques are very welcome, so feel free to fire at will!

Thanks in advance for your valuable time,

Joe Marketer

P.S: I have..

1. Installed the ALL in one SEO plugin.
2. Verified the website with Google Webmaster Tools.
3. Created a Sitemap and let Google know about it.

Make sure all of your outside pages are linked to your blog.

LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. should all be linked to your blog
home page.

If you don’t have a Squidoo “About Me” page, build one and link it to your blog.

Put the link of your Squidoo page in your Better Networker profile, and on your
blog, Facebook, etc. Also put a link at the bottom of all of your blog posts to
“Learn More About Me” that links to your Squidoo page. The Squidoo
“About Me” lens becomes the place to go for people to learn more about you.
Make sure you have a prominent link on that page that leads to your blog home page.

Write articles for your Better Networker profile. When you post, be sure to check
the “announce on Twitter” box near the end of the submission page. Your article will
be tweeted.

Link your Twitter page to your Facebook page. There’s a plugin that will post your
Tweets on your Facebook page. Now your article will be tweeted and posted to
Facebook at the same time.

If you’re posting articles on directories such as Ezine articles, add a link in the resource
box that goes to your blog home page. Sometimes you should send this link to your
Squidoo “About Me” page. It depends on how you word your resource box. Your other link
in the article or resource box can be sent to other articles (on the same or different directories),
to articles on your blog, or to Squidoo or other social pages such as WetPaint or HubPages.
Sometimes you’ll want to link to one of the “pages” on your blog that tells more about
the subject of your article.

Go to http://alexa.com and start watching your rankings and inbound links. You’ll see
steady progress in your rankings, and eventually your blog will top the organic search
for your name.

I did these things and achieved the desired results in a month.
And it just keeps getting better.

  1. Rhoda Hilton Says:

The most important thing to remember is that the Resource Box flows right out of the article and is in fact the very next paragraph. Did you get that, the very next paragraph?

So you want your article to flow right into the Resource Box and into an invitation for your prospect to get more good information from you in exchange for their email address.

When you have done your job well by the time your prospect gets to the end of your article they are eager to get more information from you and Boom! there is your link for more information.

That’s a great tip Rhoda. Thanks for leaving a helpful comment. :)
