Attraction Marketing #17 – Article Marketing Strategies

Ok, you’ve got enough information to effectively use articles as a tool
to get more traffic. You know that article marketing is a foundational strategy that
every marketer should use because the long-term benefits are huge. You also know that article spinners spew out worthless, unreadable garbage, and article submitters, because of the way they submit your articles, either don’t get your article submitted, or the article is less effective because of crappy submitting procedures.

So what the heck are you supposed to DO?!

Well, you can start with these things.

1. Forget about posting your article to any directory that will take it. Your strategy is to become a known and popular writer on the most trafficked article sites on the web. You want a very strong presence on these sites, which you’ll only get by submitting good content that people actually want to read.

2. Write your own articles. Don’t try to BS people with lame-ass cliches and worn out slogans that don’t help anyone do anything at all. Give ‘em some meat! Either teach them something they didn’t know, or show them how to do something. Hold their interest and keep ‘em coming back for more.

3. Either don’t use a spinner at all, or be very careful choosing. Most are junk. Remember, if you are seen as a knucklehead by the prospect after they’ve read a couple of your articles, they’ll never read another one again.

4. Learn how to effectively use the links in your articles. Most people want to send every link back to their blog home page. Bad idea. Your home page most likely is not on the same theme as your individual article. Use your links to link to  other articles in the same or different directories, your social pages and articles on your blog that are on the same subject. You want your links to strengthen all of your content pages, not just your blog home page. Besides, you should have a link to your blog home page on all of the social sites, etc. anyway.

5. Mix up your links. See above and get creative. Don’t worry about sending your prospects directly to an opt-in form or sales page. If they’re interested in what you have to say, they’ll find those pages on their own. Articles are more effective if you use them to show your prospects what you can teach them about the subject they’re interested in. Not just to get them to your blog.

6. You can use any of your articles for the basis of a social page, like a Squidoo lens. You’ve got all that great content in the article. Don’t let it go to waste. Set up a Squidoo lens or Hubpage, etc., with the article as text. Add some pics, video or audio. Maybe even a combination of the three. Dress the page up. Add some links. This will help build your web presence and give you more authority on the social sites.

This article gives you the basics as well as some specific strategies to use when using article marketing. The list is by no means complete. Doing the above will get the ball rolling and get you some traffic. After that, you just have to keep being creative and discover new and better ways to get maximum mileage from your articles.

As you can see, there’s lots of work to using your articles effectively.

But if you use these strategies and keep adding to them, in the long run, you’ll be very happy with the results.

So often you read an article or piece that hems around and gives you nothing of value. Thanks for following you own advice and putting some meat in this post. You’ve got a great blog here.
