Good morning. How are you doing? I'm out of here in my little parking area, getting ready to take off. I was thinking this morning about myths that you hear when you're marketing. When you're first starting out especially. They may be good things, some of them, but a lot of times they're misunderstood, and can actually cause you more problems than help.

Today I want to talk about the myth of massive action. The reason that this is such a terrible thing, is because first of all, you can't tell what massive is. If a person writes a blog post every single day, is that massive? Or is a blog post every other day massive? Is two videos, three videos a day, massive, or is 150 a month massive?

You have no idea what massive action is, and you always feel like you're not doing enough. That will discourage you and take your focus away from where it should be, which is the work you're doing.

I've found it best to make sure you take an action every single day. Right now I'm doing sort of a demonstration. I got this new phone. To justify the expense, I wanted to make sure that I was using it a lot. Not just in my regular business, in my trucking and stuff like that, but in making a video every day so I could post online.

Now I don't know if that's massive action or not, but I do know that now I am consistently making a video every day and I am also reading every day.

As a writer. I should be writing more. I should be writing every single day, and I've been lax on that. I understand this, but I also understand it's like going to the gym. The first time you go, or when you first start out, you're likely going to be doing full body workouts just to get your joints limbered up. Get a little stronger, and to be become familiar with the movements you're going to be using. You don't go in there and work out six hours a day. That's insane.

I remember when I first started working out. We used to get these magazines like Muscle & Fitness and Iron Man. People would try to do the Mr Olympia workout.

This guy just won the Mr. Olympia and his workouts work so good, and this is how he's doing it. People would attempt to recreate that workout on their own, which is crazy. Because here's a guy with arms the size of my freaking leg. He's been working out for 10 years and God knows what he's putting into his body. But that's another thing.

The thing is, his well-developed and very strong muscles are going to be capable of doing so much more than I am. It would be nuts for me to try to duplicate it.

That's what the myth of massive action is like to me. Just because somebody who's where you want to be is doing these things, that does not mean that you're ready to even try to do that type of thing.

You've got to build the wall. You put the footers in, and then you build it, brick by brick. You know it's a stronger foundation at the bottom. Because if you don't do that, you'll be building your wall on rickety ground, with no footers, and it's bound to collapse.

So instead of looking at, I have to take massive action, just make the goal, the objective. The plan, if you will, to carry out a given action every single day. As you get better, and as you get stronger in your marketing, you'll be able to do a lot more.

Someday someone will say, "Wow, how do you get all that done?" And you'll be able to honestly look at him and say, "Well, in the beginning, I really couldn't do all this. You've got to start here and work your way up."
